The rice OsSPL19 gene is directionally knocked out by using a CRISPER / Cas9 technology, and it is found that a transgenic plant with the OsSPL19 gene knocked out is sensitive to low potassium, the plant is short and small under low potassium treatment, the root is shortened, the potassium ion content of the root and the overground part is obviously reduced, and the potassium ion absorption capacity of the root is obviously reduced. Overexpression of the OsSPL19 gene in rice shows that a plant overexpressed by the OsSPL19 gene is tolerant to low potassium and grows well under a low-potassium condition, the potassium ion content of plant roots and overground parts is obviously increased, and the potassium ion absorption capacity of the roots is obviously enhanced. The result shows that the OsSPL19 gene participates in a rice low-potassium-resistant signal pathway and is a rice low-potassium-resistant gene. According to the invention, guarantee can be provided for improving the low-potassium resistance of the rice and cultivating low-potassium-resistant rice varieties.
