Neural stimulation device employing renewable chemical stimulation

A variety of neural stimulation devices are disclosed. The devices comprise an uptake component comprising means for selectively transporting a stimulating species into the device; a release component comprising means for releasing the stimulating species; and means for producing a concentration gradient of a second species. The concentration gradient of the second species provides energy to transport the stimulating species into the device. The stimulating species may be an ion, e.g., a potassium ion, or a neurotransmitter. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the stimulating species is a potassium ion. In a second preferred embodiment the stimulating species is dopamine. In certain embodiments of the invention countertransport across an uptake component comprising a synthetic ABA polymer membrane is achieved using a carboxylic acid crown ether. The gradient of the second species may be provided by means of a chemical reaction that takes place inside the device. The substrate for the chemical reaction is transported into the device from the external environment. In certain embodiments the neural stimulation device comprises light-sensitive elements that comprise light-sensitive proton pumps. The proton pumps translocate protons into the device in response to light, thereby triggering release of the stimulating species. In certain embodiments the neural stimulation device comprises electronic components that receive a signal and send an activating input to the device, thereby triggering release of the stimulating species.

Preparation method of lithium metal through electrolysis

The invention discloses a preparation method of lithium metal through electrolysis, which comprises the following steps: at normal temperature and normal pressure, applying direct current voltage on an anode current collector and a cathode current collector so that potassium ions in a water phase in an anode chamber penetrate through a diaphragm having lithium ion conductor characteristics under the driving of the voltage, an organic solvent in a cathode chamber is reduced to a metal lithium single substance which is deposited and enriched on the surface of the cathode current collector to obtain the product, wherein the anode chamber of an electrolysis cell is filled with an aqueous solution at least containing the lithium ions, the cathode chamber od the electrolysis cell is filled with the organic solvent having the lithium ion conductor characteristics, the diaphragm for separating the anode chamber from the cathode chamber is a lithium ion conductor ceramic membrane having the lithium ion conductor characteristics or a composite membrane of a lithium ion conductor and a polymer, and the cathode chamber is in inert gas atmosphere. The electrolysis preparation method for lithium metal avoids severe conditions which are required to prepare lithium metal by a traditional high temperature molten electrolysis process, and has the characteristics of low energy consumption, high lithium extraction efficiency and high product purity and is environment-friendly and wide in raw material sources.

Mesoporous X-type molecular sieve, adsorbent based on molecular sieve, and preparation and application thereof

The invention relates to a preparation method of a mesoporous X-type molecular sieve and a method for preparing an adsorbent by using the molecular sieve as an active component. The prepared adsorbent based on the mesoporous X-type molecular sieve is used as a paraxylene adsorptive separation adsorbent. The method for preparing the mesoporous X-type molecular sieve comprises the following steps: by using water glass as a silicon source and aluminum hydroxide as an aluminum source, adding a template, and carrying out hydrothermal synthesis to obtain the mesoporous X-type molecular sieve. The mesoporous molecular sieve and kaolin are proportionally molded to obtain 0.3-0.8mm granules, and the granules are subjected to barium ion or (and) potassium ion exchange until the exchange degree is greater than 99%, thereby obtaining the adsorbent which has excellent adsorptive separation capacity for paraxylene in C8 aromatic hydrocarbons. Compared with the prior art, the active component mesoporous X-type molecular sieve of the adsorbent, which is prepared by using the template, has the crystal form structure of the X-type molecular sieve and the pore distribution of the mesoporous and microporous dual models; the mesoporous pore size distribution is 2nm or so; and thus, the problem of overlow mass transfer rate in the adsorbent can be solved.
