Abstract

The method involves adjusting the operation of vehicle in response to whether a detected traffic control device is a stop sign or a traffic light. The control strategy is carried out automatically, or it is recommended to a driver of vehicle to take action based on the control strategy. The torque of vehicle wheels is converted to electrical energy through starter / generator. The electrical energy is stored in an electrical energy storage device.
