Abstract

The invention discloses a method for positioning error estimation based on position fingerprints. The method is used for solving the technical problem that an existing method for positioning error estimation is large in positioning error. According to the technical scheme, the method comprises the steps that firstly, RSS in the calibration point positions of an area to be positioned and from a plurality of APs is collected and used as fingerprint information of the area where calibration points are located and a position fingerprint database of the positioned area is established; secondly, an area most similar to the area where each calibration point is located is calculated and the actual distance between the area where each calibration point is located and the most similar area is worked out, so that the average value and the variance of RSS values obtained through multiple times of measurement in the calibration point positions and the distance between the area where each calibration point is located and the most similar area are worked out and serve as an error range in the calibration point positions, and the error range corresponding to a position fingerprint map is established. When a target to be positioned is positioned, the real-time RSS detected by a mobile terminal is obtained, a set of data, capable of being matched with the RSS, in a database is determined according to the matching algorithm, therefore, the actual position of the terminal is obtained, and the corresponding error range is given.
