Abstract

The invention provides a heat dissipation control method. The heat dissipation control method is used for controlling heat dissipation elements and heating elements of a network device to carry out heat dissipation on the network device. The heat dissipation control method comprises the steps of (1) sensing the temperature of the heating elements, and sending a first heat dissipation instruction when the sensed temperature is larger than a first preset temperature; (2) improving the heat dissipation capacity of the heat dissipation elements according to the first heat dissipation instruction to reduce the temperature of the heating elements; (3) sending a consumption reduction instruction when the heat dissipation elements carry out heat dissipation in a maximum strength mode, and it is ensured that the sensed temperature is larger than a second preset temperature; (4) controlling the heating elements according to the consumption reduction instruction to reduce power consumption of the heating elements so as to enable the temperature of the heating elements to be smaller than or equal to the first preset temperature, wherein the second preset temperature is larger than the first preset temperature. The heat dissipation control method achieves the purpose of ensuring long-term reliability of the network device.
