Abstract

The present invention relates to tappet guide assemblies for internal combustion engines. The lifter guide includes a lifter guide body including an outer surface and an inner surface extending from a first end to a second end. The inner surface defines at least one push rod channel. A plurality of compression members are disposed at the first end. The plurality of compression members protrude substantially from the first end. The plurality of compression members is constructed and arranged to be compressed by the cylinder head to retain the lifter guide within the cylinder block. Tappet guides have no mechanical fasteners.
