Abstract

The broadband-circularly-polarized dielectric resonator antenna comprises a rectangular dielectric resonator, a dielectric substrate, a metallic floor, a microstrip feeder line, a short connection point, a single-arm rectangular spiral gap and a chip resistor, wherein the single-arm rectangular spiral gap is formed by connecting four different-length linear grooves, in a range covered by the rectangular dielectric resonator, in the metallic floor; the chip resistor is arranged at the middle tail part of a longest-side linear groove of the single-arm rectangular spiral gap, and the microstrip feeder line located at the dielectric substrate side stretches across the shortest side of the single-arm rectangular spiral gap and is connected with the metallic floor through the short connection point; the rectangular dielectric resonator serves as a radiation part of the antenna, and a feeding part of the antenna is formed by the microstrip feeder line and the single-arm rectangular spiral gap, of which the tail is provided with the chip resistor. Through feeding the dielectric resonator antenna by introducing the chip resistor loaded rectangular spiral gap, the function of broadband circular-polarization is realized through single point feed based on a simple dielectric resonator structure.
