Abstract

The invention provides a mobile electronic device and a volume control method thereof. The mobile electronic device comprises an earphone jack, a processing unit and a plug detection circuit. The processing unit is used for detecting whether the earphone jack of the mobile electronic device is inserted into a conducting plug of a loudspeaking device. When the conducting plug is inserted into the earphone jack through detection, the processing unit adjusts an output volume value of the mobile electronic device into a protective volume value. The plug detection circuit is used for judging that the conducting plug is a microphone type plug or a non-microphone type plug. When the conducting plug is the microphone type plug, the processing unit adjusts the maximum output volume gain of the mobile electronic device into standard volume gain; and when the conducting plug is the non-microphone type plug, the processing unit adjusts the maximum output volume gain of the mobile electronic device into non-standard volume gain.
