Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of steelmaking and specifically relates to a method for cooling KR (Knotted Reactor) desulfurized molten iron by use of pig iron. The method for cooling the KR desulfurized molten iron by use of the pig iron comprises the following steps: 1) picking up the pig iron by using an electromagnetic chuck mounted on a travelling crane, hoisting and stopping at a position which is 20-50 centimeters above a molten iron tank in which molten iron at a temperature higher than 1320 DEG C is held, roasting the pig iron by using radiant heat of the molten iron tank for 30-60 seconds and then cancelling the electromagnetic attraction so that the pig iron drops into the molten iron under the action of own gravity of the pig iron; 2) stirring and melting the added pig iron by using a stirring paddle for KR desulfurization; 3) repeating the steps 1) and 2) until the temperature of the molten iron is reduced below 1320 DEG C. The method is simple in process and capable of meeting the cooling requirements in a molten iron pretreatment process, and thus can be used for avoiding the adverse effect of a converter on the smelting operation due to a high molten iron temperature.
