Abstract

The invention discloses application of an STC2 gene as a colorectal cancer liver metastasis molecular marker. The invention provides a kit for identifying or assisting in identifying whether a to-be-detected colorectal cancer patient has liver metastasis or not. The kit comprises a reagent for detecting expression quantity of the STC2 gene and a carrier for recording the following judgment standards: if the expression quantity of the STC2 gene in a cancer tissue of the to-be-detected colorectal cancer patient is higher than that of the STC2 gene in the cancer tissue of the diagnosed non-liver metastasis colorectal cancer liver patient, and the two have remarkable difference, the to-be-detected colorectal cancer patient has or is candidate to have liver metastasis. Experiments in the invention prove that expression of the STC2 in primary lesion of patients in the colorectal cancer liver metastasis group is remarkably higher than that in a non-liver metastasis group, and in-vitro functional experiment result at a later period indicates that STC2 possibly promotes tumor metastasis invasion ability to participate in a colorectal cancer liver metastasis process, so that clue is provided for further finding the colorectal cancer liver metastasis molecular marker.
