The method includes acquiring an ultrasonic image including a vessel image located in a region of interest ROI of the ultrasonic image; recognizing the outline of the vessel image in the ROI to obtain the target outline; selecting the standard catheter size as the preferable catheter size according to the size of the target outline and the preset rule; recommending the preferable catheter size to a user.
