Abstract

The invention provides a method and a system for playing a video in groups. The method comprises the steps of performing grouping processing on each complete video to divide the complete video into a plurality of groups of sub-videos having different starting moments in the complete videos, generating a characteristic image and/or a video description information for each group of sub-videos, sorting all the characteristic images and/or the video description information according to the starting moments so as to generate a browsing interface on which a user can browse the characteristic image and/or the video description information corresponding to each group of sub-videos, and providing trigger portals for the user to select to play the corresponding sub-videos on the browsing interface so that the corresponding sub-videos can be invoked and played.
