Problems solved by technology

From the viewpoint of the productivity of plastic lenses and the reduction of the cost of electric furnace equipment, etc., it is preferable to produce plastic lenses with a shorter polymerization time, but there is a problem that if the polymerization time is shortened, defects such as texture are likely to occur

Abstract

Provided is a method for producing a urethane-based plastic lens, wherein striae are not easily generated even by short-time polymerization. A method for producing a plastic lens, wherein a polymerization composition, which contains (A) a polyisocyanate compound, (B) a compound having a plurality of mercapto groups or hydroxy groups in each molecule and (C) a polymerization catalyst and which satisfies the conditions (1) and (2) described below, is polymerized under such polymerization conditions that the initial temperature is 20°C or less and the polymerization time is 12 hours or less. (1) The viscosity at 10°C right after the blending is 200 mPa.s or less. (2) The viscosity at 10°C after 8 hours under certain conditions is 400 mPa.s or more but 100 Pa.s or less.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a plastic lens, in particular to a method for manufacturing a plastic lens for polyurethane or thiourethane glasses. Background technique [0002] Compared with inorganic lenses, plastic lenses are lightweight, unbreakable, and can be dyed, so they are used as optical elements such as eyeglass lenses and camera lenses. As a material for a plastic lens, a polyurethane resin composed of a polymer of polyisocyanate and polythiol compound is generally used because of its high refractive index, light weight, and excellent impact resistance (Patent Document 1). For these plastic lenses, for example, a composition before polymerization is injected into a molding die having a glass mold and a spacer, and the temperature is gradually raised to perform polymerization over a long period of about 24 hours in total. [0003] In the production method of plastic lenses, depending on the volume of the lens to be pro...
