Abstract

The present disclosure relates to electronic memory systems, and more particularly to systems for storing data in adjustably divisible memory arrays, and methods of storing data in adjustably divisible memory arrays. According to an embodiment of the disclosure, there is provided a system for storing data in an adjustably divisible memory array comprising a plurality of memory cells arranged in an array of rows and columns, a plurality of bit lines, and a plurality of switches, wherein each bit line is electrically coupled to the column of memory cells, and each bit line includes a switch configured to allow the corresponding bit line to be split by opening the switch.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates generally to electronic memory systems, and more specifically to systems for storing data in an adjustable partitionable memory array and methods of storing data in an adjustable partitionable memory array. Background technique [0002] Modern microcontroller systems usually include several types of memory suitable for storing different types of data. Conventionally, microcontrollers include volatile memory (RAM) partitions and non-volatile memory partitions, such as ROM, EPROM, EEPROM, or flash memory. The volatile memory partition is used as the main memory of the microcontroller and is used to store the program being executed and others. The non-volatile memory partition is used to store program data and operating parameter data. [0003] The non-volatile memory system of such a microcontroller is sometimes divided into two physically separated partitions. Such a microcontroller system is used, for example, in the automoti...
