Abstract

The invention provides a modeling method for time delay characteristics of a WAMS (wide area measurement system), relates to a time delay modeling method, and aims to solve the problems that in the conventional WAMS, time delay measurement is often based on experiment conditions, and a measurement result cannot accurately show the time delay characteristics of an electric power system under actual operation conditions. The modeling method comprises the following steps: 1), communication time delay between each PMU (phasor management unit) sub-station and a WAMS master station is calculated; 2), time delay data are preprocessed, on one hand, wrong PMU sub-station data or PMU sub-station data with serious communication blockage are removed, and on the other hand, large time delay data of normal PMU sub-stations are rejected; 3), preprocessed time delay data is subjected to frequency calculation; and 4), results fit by different probability density functions are compared by adopting quantitative indexes, and the optimum distribution function is selected.
