Abstract

The invention provides a method for detecting thiol compounds in an oil product by use of an in-situ plated bismuth-film electrode and cyclic voltammetry. A small quantity of oil product containing thiol is added to an acetic acid-sodium acetate/methanol supporting electrolyte solution containing bismuth ions, and cyclic voltammetric detection is performed by use of a tri-electrode system. Due to strong interaction between the thiol and the bismuth ions, the cyclic voltammetric curve is enabled to have one more pair of oxidation and reduction peaks. Under optimized conditions, the intensity of the oxidation peaks and the reduction peaks is directly proportional to the concentration of the thiol, and therefore, the content of the thiol compounds in the oil product can be detected quantitatively. The method is characterized in that the oil product can be directly detected without pretreatment steps such as extraction, and the thiol compounds in samples can be selectively detected.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of electrochemical sensors, and in particular relates to a method for rapidly and accurately detecting mercaptan compounds in oil using a bismuth film electrode. Background technique [0002] Thiol refers to a class of compounds with sulfhydryl (-SH) in the molecule, which are ubiquitous in living organisms. The small amount of mercaptans remaining in the formation process of fossil fuels increases the sulfur content in petroleum products and becomes SO in the air. 2 major cause of pollution. Countries around the world are strictly controlling the sulfur content in refined oil. In order to efficiently remove sulfur during the refining process, it is necessary to understand the type and content of alkyl mercaptans, and then adjust the desulfurization process in a targeted manner. However, the reported methods for the selective detection of thiols include gas chromatography and high performance liquid chrom...
