Abstract

The present invention describes methods and apparatus for forming energization elements on electrical interconnects on three-dimensional surfaces. In some embodiments, the present invention includes incorporating three-dimensional surfaces together with electrical interconnects and energization elements into an insert for incorporation into an ophthalmic lens. In some embodiments, the resulting Insert can be used directly as an ophthalmic lens.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This patent application is a continuation-in-part of US Patent Application 13 / 835,785, filed March 13, 2013, which claims the benefit of US Provisional Patent Application 61 / 665,970, filed June 29, 2012. technical field [0003] The present invention relates to methods and apparatus that can be used to form devices on which energization elements can be defined on electrical interconnects. Methods and apparatus for forming energization elements may involve said formation on a surface of an electrical interconnect occurring on a substrate having a three-dimensional surface. Fields of use of the methods and devices may include ophthalmic lenses incorporating energization elements. Background technique [0004] Traditionally, ophthalmic lenses such as contact lenses, intraocular lenses or punctal plugs comprise biocompatible devices having corrective, cosmetic or therapeutic properties. Contact lenses, for example, may p...
