After each item of the list data is inserted into the prefix tree, the compressed serialized byte stream is output according to the distance information of a root node and the first child node of a subtree. The method can be used for compressing disordered data and improves the compressing efficiency. After the compressed serialized byte stream is output, the compressing effect of the list data can be further improved when the non-destructive compressing method is combined with the conventional compressing method. The invention further provides a decompressing method corresponding to the non-destructive compressing method.
