Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for efficient random access of user equipment. The method comprises the steps of selecting the number of random access preamble code repetition times according to a mobility general situation of the user equipment; adopting the last random access preamble code repetition times at which the user equipment successfully accesses to a base station when the mobility general situation of the user equipment indicates that the mobility is low; determining the random access preamble code repetition times according to a latest downlink measurement value and a mapping table when the mobility general situation of the user equipment indicates that the mobility is high; and selecting the random access preamble code repetition times according to an absolute value of the difference between the latest downlink measurement value and the last downlink measurement value at which the user equipment successfully accesses to the base station when the mobility general situation of the user equipment indicates that the mobility is medium. The mobility general situation is determined by a core network according to the number of base stations to which the use equipment is connected within a fixed time period. Therefore, unreasonable selection, which is brought about by a downlink measurement error, of the number of preamble code repetition times is reduced, and the frequency spectrum utilization ratio is improved.
