RAID-6 I/O scheduling method for balancing strip writing

A scheduling method and striping technology, applied in the direction of input/output to record carrier, etc., can solve the problems of huge number of I/O operations, large number of checksums, poor stripe writing performance, etc., and achieve the goal of reducing the number of modified checksums Effect

Benefits of technology

This patented technology improves how writing commands on disks (RAID) reduces errors caused when modifying certain parts or areas within them due to incorrect copying techniques used overwriting their content. It also helps improve efficiency by allowing multiple writes without changing any part they were meant to be modified simultaneously. By grouping together all readings obtained after this reconfiguration step, bad block identifiers may be identified that could potentially cause harm if transferred across different devices. Additionally, it simplifies management tasks such as deleting unnecessary files while still maintaining accurate error detection capabilities. Overall, this innovative solution enhances performance and reliability of computer systems' memories.

Problems solved by technology

The technical problem addressed in this patents relates to reducing the amount of space needed per unit capacity required while maintaining good error correction capabilities without compromising their effectiveness or usability during readings.

Embodiment Construction

[0038] In order to make the above objects, features and advantages of the present invention more comprehensible, the present invention will be further described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments.

[0039] like figure 1 As shown, the present invention provides a kind of RAID-6I / O dispatching method that balanced stripe is written, comprising:

[0040] Step S1, analyze the input / output (I / O) distribution of write requests, and reorganize these requests, so as to minimize the modification amount of corresponding verification through verification sharing; specifically, by reorganizing the distribution of data blocks, and reorganizing these data Blocks are written to the storage device at one time, which can reduce the number of revision checks required for partial stripe writing and balance the I / O load;

[0041] Step S2, the input and output fragments and the incoming write requests in the same stripe are aggregated into a new...

Abstract

The invention provides a RAID-6 I/O scheduling method for balancing strip writing. The method comprises: reorganizing write requests by analyzing input/output distribution of the requests; minimizing the number of modifications of corresponding check by means of check sharing; merging input/output fragments and a write request in an incoming same strip into a new write request; writing the new write request to a disk once; marking an illegal data block generated in a reorganization process; recording the illegal data block in a memory; performing trash recycling on the illegal data block; and storing metadata information of the illegal data block for redistribution preparation. A write operation can be reduced, and disk load in a RAID storage system is balanced. Basic ideas of the invention is to perform strip writing on the basis that the corresponding check is globally understood, and to reduce the number of check modifications required for strip writing by reorganizing distribution of data blocks.
