Embodiment Construction
[0026] In comparative experiments, storage and transport of lactide granules in containers not according to the invention (implemented as boxes) and storage and transport of lactide granules in containers according to the invention (implemented as sacks) were investigated. For this, bag-in-bag boxes (capacity 600 kg) with a polyethylene liner (with oxygen and moisture barrier) were filled with lactide flakes (PURALACT L). Big bags (capacity 600 kg) with polyethylene liner (with oxygen barrier and moisture barrier) were filled with approximately 70 vol. % lactide flakes (PURALACT L). Both vessels were flushed with a stream of nitrogen before filling. After the operation of filling the lactide, both containers were sealed and then stored at a temperature of 40° C. for 30 days. Before and after the storage period, the lactide was tested for moisture content and acidity.
