Abstract

The invention discloses a liquid crystal display panel and a manufacturing method thereof. The manufacturing method of the liquid crystal display panel comprises the steps of providing a first substrate and a second substrate; forming an alignment film on the first substrate or the second substrate; utilizing polarized ultraviolet light for irradiating the first substrate or the second substrate where the alignment film is formed in an inclined mode so that the alignment film can form an alignment pre-tilt angle; pairing the first substrate and the second substrate, infusing the space between the first substrate and the second substrate with liquid crystal molecules containing reaction monomers so that a liquid crystal layer can be formed, and after the pairing is conducted, treating pre-tilt angles of the liquid crystal molecules obtained under the action of the alignment film as first angle values; utilizing unpolarized ultraviolet light for vertically irradiating the first substrate or the second substrate, applying an electric field between the first substrate and the second substrate so that the unpolarized ultraviolet light can act on the reaction monomers and the liquid crystal molecules can rotate, and thereby obtaining pre-tilt angles of the liquid crystal molecules as second angle values, wherein the second angle values are greater than the first angle values. Through the mode of the liquid crystal display panel and the manufacturing method thereof, large inclination angles of the liquid crystal molecules can be formed under the circumstance that the material of the alignment film is not changed.
