Abstract

The invention relates to a button which comprises a base plate, a key cap and a support device. The base plate includes a first magnetic zone, the support device is arranged between the base plate and the key cap and comprises a first support piece and a second support piece, and the first and second support pieces are pivotally connected to the key cap and the base plate. The first support piece includes an accommodating opening and a second magnetic zone, and the second magnetic zone is arranged in the accommodating opening and corresponds to the first magnetic zone. When the key cap is not pressed, the key cap is kept in a non-pressed position by magnetic attraction between the second and first magnetic zones. When the first magnetic zone pivots with the first support piece and moves far from the second magnetic zone due to that the key cap is pressed by an external force, the key cap moves from the non-pressed position to a pressed position with the support device. When the external force is released, the second magnetic zone moves close to the first magnetic zone due to magnetic attraction, so that the key cap moves from the pressed position to the non-pressed position with the support device. It is not required to mount an elastic component in the button as in a known button, and thus, the service life of the button can be effectively prolonged.
