The method comprises the steps that a heart beat template is screened from heart beat characteristics of heart rate signals of a user to be measured; a heart rate candidate value set is worked out through a extreme value set of a self-correlation function of heart rate signals within a preset time frame; composite signals are generated through the heart beat template and all heart rate candidate values, and the cross-correlation function of the heart rate signals within the preset time frame and all the composite signals is determined; the reliability of each heart rate candidate value is calculated through the composite signal of each heart rate candidate value and the cross-correlation function, and the heart rate candidate value with the highest reliability is determined as a heart rate measuring result. Due to the fact that the composite signals are composited through the heart beat template extracted and screened from the heart rate signals in a self-adaptive mode and the heart rate candidate values, the heart beat waveform variation influence under different measuring environments can be effectively eliminated, and thus the accuracy of the heart rate measuring result is ensured.
