The display method is used for displaying an image on a transparent display element of the display device and comprises steps of: receiving display content; determining the background resolution of the image; selecting one from multiple background images as a first background image according to the display content and the background resolution; executing image processing on the first background image in order to generate a second background image; superposing the display content on the second background image in order to generate the image; and displaying the image on the transparent display element. Therefore, the display method may reduce operation amount and power consumption required in a display process so as to prolong the use time of the display device and reduce the hardware demand of the display device.
