Abstract

The invention discloses a method for realizing a lightweight media gateway voice function. The method comprises the following steps: a media gateway sends a heartbeat message to a local side; the local side sends a voice channel active command to the media gateway; the media gateway sets a voice channel as available and sets an IP address for RTP stream transmission; a user hooks off and the media gateway plays a dial tone; the user dials a telephone and reports a number to the local side; the local side, after receiving the first digit in the number, indicates the media gateway to stop playing the dial tone; the local side, after receiving the number, forwards to a called party and indicates the media gateway to play a ring-back tone; the called party hooks off, and the local side indicates the media gateway to stop playing the ring-back tone; the local side sends a DSP content to the media gateway, and the media gateway sets a DSP voice channel; the media gateway opens the DSP voice channel; the user hooks on and reports an on-hook event to the local side; the local side indicates the media gateway to close the DSP voice channel; and an RTP stream is disconnected and the communication is finished.
