[0115] The method of the present invention is verified by computer simulation. Assume a 16-element radar or sonar array is an equidistant linear array with half-wavelength between elements. There are two interference sources in the simulation space. Interference 1 is located at 30°, which is pulse interference with a duty cycle of 50%. Interference 2 is located at 45°, which is continuous wave noise frequency modulation interference. 16 elements form a beam pointing at 15°. The ratio of interference to noise is 60dB.
