The polishing device comprises a direct-connected motor, an insulated operating rod, a polishing wheel, a base, an insulated lifting rod and an insulating rope, wherein the tail part of the insulated operating rod is connected with the direct-connected motor; the polishing wheel is fixed at the top part of the insulated operating rod; the base is fixed at the bottom part of the insulated lifting rod; the insulating rope is arranged at the upper part of the insulated lifting rod; and one end of the insulating rope is connected with the insulated operating rod. The polishing device has the advantages that the direct-connected motor is adopted as a power source; fixing is carried out through the base and the insulated lifting rod; position adjustment is carried out on the insulated operating rod by the insulating rope; the polishing wheel is driven to rotate through the insulated operating rod; the polishing wheel rotating at a high speed is in contact with the surface of a switch contact to finish charged polishing operation on the surface of the contact; when the isolation switch contact emits heat and exceeds the temperature is found out, short-time shutdown is applied as quickly as possible; and polishing and trouble clearing can be finished within about ten minutes in general.
