Abstract

The invention discloses a backlight driving circuit and a backlight control method for a liquid crystal display device. The backlight driving circuit comprises an input end and an output end which are respectively used for receiving DC input voltage and providing DC output voltage, and is used for driving multiple sets of LED lamp strings so as to provide backlight. The backlight driving circuit comprises at least one switching module which is respectively connected between the output end and a corresponding set of LED lamp string of the multiple LED lamp strings, thereby connecting or disconnecting connection between the output end of the corresponding set of LED lamp string according to control of a switching signal. The backlight driving circuit only needs to introduce the switching module at a load end, thereby being capable of satisfying backlight requirements of different display modes by adopting a low-cost circuit.
