Abstract

A method for generating a payment credential in a payment transaction, comprising: storing in a memory at least a one-time key associated with a transaction account; receiving a personal identification number by a receiving device; determining a first session key by a processing device; generating, by the processing device, a second session key based at least on the stored one-time key and the received pin; generating, by the processing device, a first application ciphertext based on at least the first session key; The session key is used to generate the second application ciphertext; and at least the first application ciphertext and the second application ciphertext are sent by the sending device for use in the payment transaction.
