The billet counting apparatus comprises a counting logic controller and a counting and weighing roller table arranged between the output region roller table and the hot delivery roller table, wherein the counting and weighing roller table comprises a pressure lifting roller and an ordinary transport roller; the top of the pressure lifting roller is higher than the top of the ordinary transport roller by a first predetermined distance; an end portion of the pressure lifting roller is fixedly provided with a retaining ruler; a proximity switch corresponding to the retaining ruler is arranged below the pressure lifting roller; a distance between the bottom of the retaining ruler and the top of the proximity switch is smaller than the first predetermined distance; and the proximity switch is electrically connected with the counting logic controller via counting signals.
