Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for optimizing a storage space. The method comprises the steps of counting usage frequency of each file according to file usage information of each file; determining a target file with the usage frequency less than a preset threshold according to the usage frequency of each file; and optimizing the storage space occupied by the target file. By using the method for optimizing the storage space provided by the invention, a terminal or a server side can count a usage rate of each file according to the usage information of each file, duly determine the target file which is not used frequently according to the usage rates of the files, and optimize the storage space occupied by the target file at the right time, thus ensuring that the terminal always keeps sufficient storage space, avoiding the situation that an expected operation of a user cannot be executed due to insufficient storage space, and effectively enhancing the terminal experience of the user.
