The method comprises: capturing video stream data and generating a video stream segment according to the captured video stream data; performing setting processing of the currently generated video stream segment; saving the processed video stream segment in order to be invoked for playback. Compared to the prior art in which a playback video file is generated only after live video broadcasting is finished, the present invention allows for generation, even during live broadcasting, of a video stream segment which can be invoked and played back by a user, effectively solving the playback delay issue of live video broadcasting, shortening the period of time the user waits to review the live broadcasted video, ensuring user experience. In addition, the present invention further performs setting processing of the video stream segment, and due to the small size of the video stream segment, the present invention can complete the setting processing of the small-sized video stream segment in a short period of time.
