Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses a multimedia message picture compressing method, a device thereof and a communication terminal. The spatial occupancy ratio of each picture in all the pictures is calculated. According to the available space amount of the picture and the occupancy ratio of each space, the target space amount of each picture is determined. Each corresponding picture is compressed according to each target space amount. The space amount occupied by each compressed picture (the target space amount) is determined by the spatial occupancy ratio of each picture in the total space initially occupied by all pictures. The space amount occupied by the compressed picture which occupies a large space amount before compression is relatively large. Compressing all pictures into the same size is avoided. The problem of low image quality, which is caused by large compression ratio of a picture with large original size, is avoided. The compressed picture attachments in a multimedia message have the same clarity, which improves the user experience.
