In some implementations, multiple images may be sampled autonomously from an available image data stream. For example, a camera application of a smartphone or other mobile computing device may present a live preview based on the data stream from the image capture device. The image capture data stream can be sampled and the photos of most interest retained for further filtering and presentation. Abstract

Embodiments of the techniques disclosed herein include techniques for autonomously collecting image data and generating photo summaries based thereon. In some implementations, multiple images may be sampled autonomously from an available image data stream. For example, a camera application of a smartphone or other mobile computing device may present a live preview based on the data stream from the image capture device. The live stream of image capture data can be sampled and the photos of most interest saved for further filtering and presentation. The saved photos can be further filtered and an image object summarizing the remaining photos can be generated as the photo session continues. Thus, image capture data can be collected, filtered and formatted autonomously to enable photographers to see manually captured moments they missed during photo sessions.
