Abstract
The invention relates to a method and a device for starting an application. The method comprises the following steps of receiving a first starting instruction of a first application; displaying reminding information which represents starting of the first application in a preset area of a displaying interface of an application icon, wherein the dimension of the preset area is smaller than that of the displaying interface; determining whether a stopping instruction for stopping the first application is received in a preset time period; and if yes, stopping the first application. According to the method for starting the application, through displaying application starting information to a user, the user can determine whether mis-triggering occurs. After the user finds mis-triggering, the user can completely stop the application through a simple operation. Background operation of the application is prevented, thereby preventing electric energy consumption of the mobile terminal and further preventing memory usage.
