Specifically, the present subject matter provides devices, systems and methods in which an indicator element is purposely designed to display a deterioration and damage. In this regard, the operation of the indicator element disclosed herein can be likened to the principle of an electrical fuse. Those skilled in the art will understand that a fuse is a device used as a sacrificial member to protect the main system from an overcurrent condition. By analogy, indicator elements are designed to "break" when certain conditions are met, in order to protect the integrity of the rest of the system and alert the operator that damage has begun.
