Abstract

The present invention provides a method for estimating average soil moisture content. The method comprises the following steps: using a ground penetrating radar measurement method with a fixed transceiver antenna interval to obtain thick root reflection data; using an RHT-based hyperbola automatic identification algorithm to extract the average wave velocity from the thick root hyperbolic signal; converted to soil water content. For the first time, the method uses the plant root system as a reflector to estimate the average soil water content, and realizes the accurate acquisition of the average wave velocity when the depth information of the coarse root is unknown. This provides an effective method for quickly and non-destructively obtaining the distribution of soil moisture levels, which is of great significance for studying the interaction between plant roots and soil.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a processing method of a ground penetrating radar image, in particular to a process of automatically identifying a hyperbola on a radar image and obtaining an average wave velocity by using an RHT-based hyperbola automatic identification algorithm, which belongs to the field of image processing. Background technique [0002] Soil water content (SWC) is one of the important properties of soil and a key variable in understanding the formation of natural ecosystems and biodiversity. Soil water content is also an important link in the water cycle. It controls the exchange of energy and water between the ground and the atmosphere, and affects the hydrological processes such as soil water infiltration, seepage, and redistribution. In addition, soil water content is a key factor in the fine management of agriculture, highway maintenance and atmospheric hydrological model research. [0003] Due to the high temporal and spatial variabi...
