Abstract

The invention relates to the field of polymer composites, in particular to a polypropylene / ethylene propylene diene monomer / nickel-plated glass fiber functional composite and a preparation method thereof. The composite is prepared from 15.0 to 30.0wt% of polypropylene, 25.0 to 45.0wt% of ethylene propylene diene monomer and 40.0 to 50.0wt% of nickel-plated glass fiber. According to the composite disclosed by the invention, the nickel-plated glass fiber is utilized as filler to functionally modify a polypropylene / ethylene propylene diene monomer thermoplastic elastomer. As the glass fiber has the structural characteristics of larger length-diameter ratio and easiness in lap joint, continuous distribution and network construction of a coating nickel layer in the polypropylene / ethylene propylene diene monomer thermoplastic elastomer are achieved. A conductive path can be formed in the extremely-low metal nickel content to give good conductivity and electromagnetic shielding performance to the polypropylene / ethylene propylene diene monomer thermoplastic elastomer.
