By above method, when the locational strain of the slippage monitoring sensor changes, the elastic matrix is deformed under the strain force. Meanwhile, refractive index modulation periods and fiber core refractive indexes of a plurality of the fiber bragg gratings disposed in the elastic matrix change with the deformation of the elastic matrix, further resulting in the change in wave length of reflected light of the fiber bragg gratings. Thus, the slippage monitoring sensor and the side slope slipping strain monitoring system are capable of effectively monitoring the slippage inside the slide slope through a feedback of the change in wave length of reflected light by each fiber bragg grating before and after the change in strain.
