Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for compensating brightness of a display panel, which are applied to each preset gray-scale value. The method comprises the following steps of inputting of preset gray scales: inputting the same preset gray-scale values into each sub-pixel; obtaining of brightness: obtaining the actual brightness value displayed by each sub-pixel; compensation of grey scales: when the percentage of the actual brightness value deviating from the target brightness value of each sub-pixel is greater than the preset threshold value, determining the compensation gray scale value corresponding to each sub-pixel according to the actual brightness value of each sub-pixel, the target brightness value, and the preset contrast table of gray scale stepping values; inputting of compensation gray scales: inputting the corresponding compensation gray scale value into each sub-pixel; repeating the steps of obtaining the brightness, compensating the gray scale and inputting the compensation gray scale, until the percentage of the actual brightness value deviating from the target brightness value of each sub-pixel is smaller than the preset threshold value. The method has the advantages that by looking up the contrast table, the compensation gray scale corresponding to each sub-pixel is determined; by continuously compensating for multiple times, the target brightness value is approximate, and the brightness compensation result is more reliable.
