Embodiment Construction

[0028] The present disclosure generally describes computer-implemented methods, software, and systems for validating extensions to core process models. For example, extension points are provided to the core process model associated with the core process, the extension points are predefined and stored by the core process model provider, and the extension points are specified to be inserted into the core process model in the restricted Behavioral constraints are annotated, and extension points follow the Process Extension Constraint Definition Language. Extension points are exposed by core process model providers to users of the core process model. Instructions are received from a user to insert selected extensions into an instance of the core process model, each selected extension including user-customized behavior for the extension to run at the corresponding extension point when the core process runs. Instances of the core process model are identified, for each extension, in...

Abstract

The present disclosure describes methods, software, and systems, including methods of providing extension points for core process models. The extension point is provided to the core process model associated with the core process. The extension points are predefined and annotated with constraints that specify extended behavior of the extended behavior that is inserted into the core process model at the extension point. The extension point is formulated in a process extension constraint definition language and allows runtime constraints. The process extension constraint definition language is based on temporal logic and enhances the existing attribute specification pattern with specific support to establish constraints on the extended task type level for activities included in the process extension. An instruction to receive an instance of the selected extension into the core process model from the user. Each selected extension includes the user-defined behavior for the extension. An instance of the core process model is confirmed.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority to Serial No. 14 / 974,713, entitled "Software as a Service Reference Process Extended Validation Framework," filed in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on December 18, 2015, and filed on December 18, 2015 in Priority Serial No. 14 / 974,662, entitled "Controlled Reference Process Extensibility Framework," filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office; the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The invention relates to a software-as-a-service reference flow extension verification framework. Background technique [0004] Various types of software-as-a-service (SaaS) enterprise systems are typically available in the industry. Most systems document their core reference processes as information flows, eg, shipped as part of their product documentation. Typical SaaS offerings do not provide the ability to accurately model and constrain the be...
