Abstract

The invention provides a DVC-HEVC video transcoding method based on a key frame coding unit (CU) partition mode and a transcoder thereof, mainly relating to the partition of high efficiency video coding (HEVC) modes in transcoders. As the CU partition depth of a non-key frame is generally less than the partition depth of a key frame, the method comprises the following steps: firstly performing a fusion operation on the basis of the K frame partition mode, partitioning a WZ frame according to the fused CU partition mode, and then determining whether the CU needs to be further partitioned according to the motion vector of the WZ, and finally obtaining the CU partition mode of the WZ frame. According to the method provided by the invention, a layer-by-layer rate distortion optimization process with higher computational complexity in an HEVC module can be skipped, and thus the purpose of reducing the complexity of HEVC can be achieved; and experimental results show that by adopting the method provided by the invention, the computational complexity and transcoding time of video coding can be greatly reduced and the transcoding efficiency can be effectively increased in case of very small transcoding distortion.
