Abstract

The present invention relates to a member for electrophotography, a manufacturing method thereof, a process cartridge, and an electrophotographic apparatus. Provided is a member for electrophotography that is excellent in charge-imparting performance to toner and hardly causes stickiness on its surface even when left for a long time in a high-temperature, high-humidity environment. The member for electrophotography includes a substrate and a surface layer, wherein the surface layer satisfies the following requirements (A) and (B): (A) the surface layer contains a copolymer in a region from its surface to a depth of 0.1 μm , the copolymer contains a structural unit represented by the following structural formula (1) and at least one structural unit selected from a structural unit represented by the following structural formula (2) and a structural unit represented by the following structural formula (3); and (B) The concentration of nitrogen atoms derived from the nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic amine structure in the copolymer is 6.0% by mass to 30.0% by mass.
