Embodiment Construction

[0024] Although the technique according to the invention can be realized in different ways, the following is purely exemplarily focused on determining the concentration of ozone by means of metal oxides. Other gases are likewise provable, and instead of metal oxides other components, in particular field effect transistors, can also be used.

[0025] figure 1 Shown is a measuring device 100 for determining the concentration of a gas 105 which may be present, in particular, in ambient air. The measuring device 100 comprises a gas sensor 110 , a scanning device 115 for determining parameters of the element 110 , a stimulation device 120 and a processing device 125 . In a preferred embodiment, the gas sensor 110 , the scanning device 115 and the stimulation device 120 are integrated with each other into an integrated sensor 130 .

[0026] The gas sensor 110 has the property of absorbing a portion of the gas 105 from the environment and, depending on the absorption, changing a pa...

Abstract

A measuring device for determining a gas concentration includes a gas-sensitive element, a sensing device, a stimulation unit, and a processing unit. The gas-sensitive element is configured to absorb a gas. The sensing device is configured to determine a parameter of the gas-sensitive element in a predetermined time period, where the parameter depends on an absorbed quantity of the gas. The stimulation unit is configured to stimulate the gas-sensitive element and accelerate desorption of the gas out of the gas-sensitive element. The processing unit is configured to determine a rate of change of the parameter, to control the stimulation such that a concentration of the gas in the gas-sensitive element lies outside of an equilibrium state, and to determine the gas concentration based on the rate of change.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a gas sensor. In particular, the invention relates to a device and a method for the improved determination of the concentration of a gas. Background technique [0002] The gas sensor is configured to determine the concentration of a predetermined gas, eg ozone, in a fluid medium such as air. For this purpose, the gas sensor follows the indirect measurement principle, in which a gas sensor is provided at which a parameter which may be influenced by the gas concentration can be determined. This parameter ideally depends only on the concentration (selectivity) of the gas to be measured. A small change in the gas concentration should already affect the parameter in a measurable way. There should be a defined correlation (precision) between the gas concentration and the measurable parameter. The property to be measured should change with the gas concentration as quickly as possible (short measurement time). Furthermore, these c...
