Various embodiments may provide a structure that maintains the two ends of the torn tendon in an adjoining relationship without gaps, while allowing for controlled tendon elongation along the length of the repair device and near the tendon ends. In this way, the repair device of the present invention can provide the proper healing required to fuse the tendon ends while still providing mobility of the tendon to minimize atrophy and potential adhesions.
