The method comprises the following steps: after a microwave oven is started, the heating progress of the microwave oven is detected; after the heating progress is detected as heating completion, the method judges if a person is in a range from the microwave oven by a preset distance; when the person is in the range, the moving direction of the person is determined, wherein the moving direction comprises approaching the microwave oven and leaving from the microwave oven; and when the moving direction of the person is approaching of the microwave oven, a door of the microwave oven is opened. After the heating progress is detected as the heating completion, the method automatically judges if the person is in the range from the microwave oven by the preset distance, and the moving direction of the person is judged; and when the person approaches the microwave oven, the door of the oven is automatically opened, so that manual opening of the door of the oven by users is not needed, the user operations are reduced, and the user use experiences are improved.
