Abstract

Embodiments of the invention disclose a pedestrian re-identification method and apparatus. The method comprises the steps of obtaining a target image and a reference image; detecting a first local salient feature and a second local salient feature, wherein the first local salient feature is a local salient feature of the target image on a target region, and the second local salient feature is a local salient feature of the reference image on the target region; and calculating the similarity between the first local salient feature and the second local salient feature, wherein the target region is located in any region on a pedestrian body, and the process of detecting the local salient features comprises the steps of obtaining a salience map in the target region; performing binarization on the salience map of the target region to generate a binary image; and extracting a connected part set in the target region from the binary image, and determining the local salient features, wherein the local salient features include connected parts meeting a preset condition in the connected part set.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of image processing, in particular to a pedestrian re-identification method and device. Background technique [0002] With people's increasing attention to social public safety and the development of video capture technology and large-scale data storage technology, a large number of surveillance cameras are used in places where there are dense crowds and public safety is likely to occur. It is difficult for humans to cope with the massive growth of surveillance video. The need for computers to re-identify pedestrians in surveillance videos arises at the historic moment. Among them, re-identification refers to the identification of a specific pedestrian who has appeared in the surveillance network in the surveillance video. For example, in the monitoring network, pedestrians will appear under different cameras. The task of pedestrian re-identification is to identify the identity of pedestrians in the...
