Abstract

The invention belongs to the field of biological medicines, relates to novel uses of artemether and artemisinin analogues in pharmacy, particularly relates to uses of artemether in preparation of preparations promoting steatolysis and improving carbohydrate metabolism, and more particularly relates to uses of artemether and artemisinin analogues in preparation of preparations promoting browning of white adipose and preparations reducing body weight and improving metabolism. In-vivo and in-vitro experiments prove that the artemisinin analogues have a function of inducing browning of white adipose, and through promoting the browning of white adipose, effects of reducing body weight, improving metabolism, maintaining a carbohydrate metabolism steady state, relieving fatty liver and improving diabetes related symptoms are achieved. Clinical application practices show that intolerable adverse effects of the artemisinin analogues have not been found, the artemisinin analogues can be further prepared into preparations promoting steatolysis and improving carbohydrate metabolism and the preparations are used for treating and improving metabolism related diseases.
