Benefits of technology

This technology helps solve issues with analyzers such as limited analytical areas or sensitive electronics due to their small size. It allows us to measure uniformly all types of materials accurately without being affected from external influences during testing. Additionally it provides reliable results even when measuring other nonmetallic material used in fuels.

Problems solved by technology

This patents describes different methods used to detect or measure the quality of metal oxide (MOx) rods produced from nuclear reactors. These techniques include XRF analyzers with special probes made specifically designed to study specific areas within these materials, atomic absorption spectrometry, and laser diffraction scattering spectroscopy. However, none provide an efficient way to determine whether all parts of this material consisted solely of elemental ones.

Embodiment Construction

[0030] The present invention will be described in detail below in conjunction with specific embodiments.

[0031] MOX pellet homogeneity self-radiation numerical determination method of the present invention comprises the following steps:

[0032] Step 1: Select 5 to 20 MOX pellets or green bodies with good appearance, no edge drop or corner drop.

[0033] Step 2: Dry and store the film in a vacuum drying oven at -15-5° C. for 0.5-6 hours, with a vacuum degree of 0.1-10.0 Pa.

[0034] Step 3: Take out the film from the vacuum drying oven and lay it flat on the table. Pay attention to the flatness of the film, and control the vertical distance between the highest position and the lowest position of the film between 0.1 and 0.6 mm.

[0035] Step 4: Arrange the pellets or green bodies selected in Step 1 on the upper part of the film in sequence according to the number. The distance between each sample is 5-20cm to prevent the mutual interference of rays between different samples...

Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of the detection of product homogeneity, and particularly relates to a method for determining a numerical value of homogenous self-radiating rays of an MOX pellet. The method comprises the following steps: selecting an MOX pellet or a green body; drying and storing a photographic film in a vacuum drying box; taking out the photographic film, and laying on a table-board; successively arranging the selected pellets or the green bodies on an upper portion of the photographic film according to serial numbers, and enabling a test sample to irradiate the photographic film; taking out the test sample, storing the test sample in a fabricated storage area, and installing a photo into a developing jar in a dark pocket; adding a photographic fixing concentrated solution and a photographic fixing removal solution into water; soaking the photo by the developing jar filled with the photographic film; preparing a working solution, adding a developing solution into the developing jar, vibrating the developing jar, and pouring out the developing solution; adding stop bath into the developing jar, and after the soaking, discharging the stop bath out of the developing jar; adding the photographic fixing solution into the developing jar, vibrating the developing jar, and pouring out the photographic fixing solution; taking out the photographic film, and cleaning and drying; and observing a result under an electric observation lamp, and evaluating homogeneity of the pellet or the green body. By adopting the method, the efficiency for detecting the homogeneity of the pellet can be improved.
