The method comprises the steps of creating a vehicle VIN code analysis table in a database; in the vehicle VIN code analysis table, establishing correlations of 1-m bits of VIN codes of different manufacturers, production countries, the manufacturers and vehicle types; establishing correlations of m-n bits of the VIN codes of the different manufacturers, engine displacements, fuel types and transmission types; establishing correlations of p bits of the VIN codes of the different manufacturers and vehicle production time; receiving a VIN code input instruction of a user, and automatically performing comparative matching on the VIN codes, and vehicle brands, vehicle names, the vehicle production time, the engine displacements, the fuel types and the transmission types in the VIN code analysis table of the database; and if the matching succeeds, displaying vehicle configuration information to the user through a query interface.
